Josh Brown '10 Recruiting Profile

My name is Josh Brown. I am a 6'1" point guard/shooting guard from Memphis, TN. I have started and competed at the varsity level for 4 years with MHEA (Memphis Homeschool Education Association) Eagles. My dream and goal is to play college basketball. I have a great work ethic that pushes me to be the best I can be. I get up early in the morning to do my running, training, and ball handling drills. My dad and I often watch films of different games to continue to raise my basketball IQ. I believe that I have prepared myself well and put myself in the best position to play college basketball. I feel that I am above average regarding the fundamentals of basketball, and that I can compete with the best of players. I have received many awards at the local, regional, and national level. Because I have competed against top teams (public/private/homeschool/AAU), I am confident that I will be able to contribute to your team. Why am I homeschooled? My parents chose to homeschool me not to isolate me from society but to insulate me so that I would choose to go hard after those things that will produce efficacy in my life and in society; God, family, education, self motivation/discipline, and etc. As a result of homeschooling, one of the things I love to do is to volunteer in the inner-city of Memphis. I truly see how important it is to reach out to others who are in need. I feel that by volunteering in some small way, I can be part of the solution. Finally, I realize that I am in college to get my degree, and I am very committed to that goal. My current ACT score is 25. If given the opportunity, I know that I can be an asset to your team.
