Logan Ortega '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Logan Ortega and I will be entering my freshman year of high school in September 2017. I've chosen to attend Martin Luther High School in Maspeth, NY and I am looking forward to being a Cougar. When I was in the 4th grade my school started a new basketball program and I was hooked! 6th grade through 8th grade I played on the A-Team for Saint Margaret's Catholic Academy in Middle Village, NY. Head coach, Larry Hawkins, has been a driving force for me to become a stronger and more confident player. Coach Larry helped me to develop my skills and made me realize that I have true potential. During the off-season, I attend skills clinics as well as Martin Luther Basketball Summer Camp for the past 4 years. I intend to play for a local AAU team in the near future . Although it is still early in the game, I would like to find a college that has the perfect balance for me both academically and athletically. I am interested in studying Sports Journalism / Broadcasting and I've always had a great interest in Criminal Justice. I am dedicated and driven and intend to excel in my studies as well as my game over the next 4 years of high school. I can offer my future team my full dedication. My coaches have been impressed with how well I follow instruction and learn plays quickly. I make smart decisions on the court and I will not sacrifice the success of the team by showcasing myself. I am a team player.  Along with the love and support of my family, I feel confident that I will accomplish my goals.
