Personal Statement

I am a student of the game.  My inspirations have been Magic Johnson and Larry Bird.  I have always prided myself on playing hard-nosed defense and finishing at the rim on offense, but my favorite thing to do is to make a great pass! I have attended a PGC Camp and it has helped me become a very well-rounded player.  This summer I have been blessed to play for the AAU team Oklahoma Impact Gray under Coach Andre Owens.   I have learned so much about what it takes to compete at the next level from my coaches, team mates and competition and  I am very excited to use it in this, my Senior year.   My short-term goals are to return to both the state basketball and baseball tournaments  and to improve my ACT score in the Spring, and to be in the top 10 percent of my graduating class.  My mid range goal is to be able to play basketball at the next level, preferably in Division 1 and be a success in the college classroom.  Long-term to stay in basketball as long as possible as a player and then possibly as a coach. I am looking into Occupational Therapy as a profession at this time.
