Kalen Howell Jr. '17 Recruiting Profile

I grew up playing basketball, worked hard during the season and off season. Every year I’ve improved as a player and leader on the court. As an upper classman I help train and support younger players during community basketball camps, tournaments and training sessions. All of this has made me the player I am today.

I am a very diverse player on the court. At 6’5” I can play the post position but I also shoot very well beyond the arch and can take my defender off the dribble. I am a very vocal player on the court and I am looked to as a leader by my coaches.

I have played on the same AAU team for 7 years. The first couple of years we would go to tournaments and get blown out every single game. As the years went on I worked hard, got better, and we grew closer together and improved as a team. This year we brought home 2nd and 3rd place tournament trophies and also qualified for nationals. This season I improved as a player and became more knowledgeable of the game.

I’ve always been a good student and as a junior I was on the A/B honor roll the entire year. My ultimate goal is to get a scholarship to play basketball in college.
