My senior year in high school has made me realize that I am happy with the goals I have achieved both in school and on the court. With my senior season approaching I still have many more goals I want to reach.
I have played AAU for the Queen City Thunder for seven years. We have traveled the Southeastern part of the United States and played in many tournaments. This has prepared me to be a leader on the court as well as off the court. I am truly a team player. I love creating and getting my teammates involved.
This is my fourth year playing varsity basketball at West Stanly High School. I am prepared and ready to have a big senior season. We are going to take it one game at a time and in the end our ultimate goal is to bring home a state championship.
Phenom Hoop Report-
October 23, 2016 Phenom 150 Camp Session 2
Jacob Whitey, 6’ 2017 G at West Stanly HS – Jacob was one of several players from West Stanly HS that shined here today. The active guard put up several deep 3’s in the one we saw in route to putting up double digit points. He played with fire and a good motor from the tip to the end of the game we saw. His hustle showed up in numerous phases of the game as that intensity helped him to check off all the boxes of the box score. Jacob is the type of player that coaches love to have on the floor. Solid performance today.
5’11 ’17 Jacob Whitley
Jacob is a quick and athletic penetrating PG. He’s electric in transition and can score in multiple ways. In addition, we’ve been impressed with his tenacity and understanding of the game. Jacob has a nice blend of basketball IQ and athleticism that will garnish collegiate interest.
#78 6’ 2017 Jacob Whitley of West Stanly High School (Oakboro, NC)
Whitley is a good penetrating guard who excels in the open floor and can score in bunches. He is a hard worker on defense and a crafty rebounder for his position. Whitley’s camp coach Jason Moxley stated, “Jacob is an athletic prospect with a good IQ and a tenacity in the open floor.” Coaches at the appropriate level should start monitoring him now.
