Clay Watkins '17 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6'10" 250 lbs. Center for my varsity high school team (East Chapel Hill Wildcats) and AAU team (Durham Hurricanes), but there is more to me than just my size.  I have been described as an "high-IQ, old-school big."   I have a strong work ethic and give my team, and the game, 100% of my energy.  I have also pushed myself in the classroom with honors and AP courses while playing basketball throughout the season and off-season.  I attend East Chapel Hill High School in Chapel Hill, NC which is ranked as one of the most academically demanding high schools in the nation.  My ultimate goal is to continue this effort in the classroom and on the court to achieve both academic and basketball success at the collegiate level.   My senior season I was awarded with Defensive Player of the Year as well as All Conference for PAC6.
