My name is Sean Nolan and I am 6'1 180 lbs. with a 6'3 wingspan. I have great parents that early on have preached work ethic, not only sports but also in school and life in general. I grew up interested in many sports but basketball was just the one I fell in love with from an early age. My sophomore year I was a starter on a semi-finalist team in N.Y. Section 2 Class B Colonial Council sectional tournament. This experience was very good for me because it taught me how to play with new faces and new styles of people's games. That year I had no one from my grade or anyone I grew up playing with on my team so I was forced to adapt to their style of play, make my game better along with theirs. Last year was good; I started for the second consecutive year. We finished the year losing by 5 to the team that went to the final four in the State Tournament. This is my senior year and I am starting again and have taken on the primary role of the leader on the team. I feel that my commitment to this game is not only paying off in my talents but making people around me better. The sport of basketball has helped me grow a lot as a person outside of the sport, in ways like not getting too frustrated if you make a bad mistake, you need to get over it and focus on the next task at hand. Throughout high school my academics always come first, my goals are to be on high honor roll every quarter (90 average or better) and do the best I can, no matter what academics always come first because at some point in life the game we love to play will come to an end no matter what level you play at and you need an education to succeed in life after that. I'm grateful to be able to wake up every morning and be able to play the game that I love and to be surrounded by such great people in my life.
