My name is Taj Jenkins and I live in Freeport, New York. I'm a 5'9, 150 lbs senior point guard in the class of 2017. My ultimate goal is to play at the next level in college and graduate with a degree in the fields of Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy, or Athletic Training . Currently I hold a 3.4 GPA, weighted with honors gives me a 3.5. I attend Holy Trinity Diocesan High School in Hicksville, New York where I'm a core ambassador. I'm also a member of the National High School Scholars Association. Outside of school I take part in giving back to the community through my church and training younger athletes along side my trainer Tommy Tempesta.
This season I was the starting point guard on the Varsity team where I averaged 8.3 ppg, 2.3 rebs, 2ast and 1.6stls shooting 35% from the field and 79 % from the free throw line. Undersized, I impact the game in other ways besides what's displayed in the stat line. Defensively I'm a pest for opposing guards and teams causing a bunch of havoc. Also I'm a floor general, not only with a high IQ in the classroom but a high IQ that can translate onto the court as well. I can lead a team with the ball in my hands and lead without it as well.
