Shakur Smith '15 Recruiting Profile

Welcome to my profile! My name is Shakur Smith. I am a student-athlete at Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, New Mexico .Here's some information about me. First in for most, I want to graduate from high school and hopefully attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and the court. I am open to all options and would really like to find the best college match for me at the highest level of competition possible. Later, I want to major in business and hopefully make it to the NBA. Making it to the NBA is my long-term goal but if that doesn't happen I would like to start my own business. I am a very good kid and will do anything that my parents, teachers or coaches tell me to do. I am a quick learner not only on the court but in the classroom. I know that If I work on my learning skills that it can improve me in many areas of the game. I know what It takes to be a good teammate. I can shoot, run the lanes, handle the ball, communicate, rebound and pass the ball impressingly well. I am good at playing under pressure and making good decisions for the team. The skills I feel I need to continue to improve on is defense, ball handling, shooting,rebounding, and mid-range jumpers. During my senior year 2014/2015 season my team had the privilege of making it to state playoffs. I ended my year with the honors of achieving offensive player of the year, first team all district, and now 6th all time scoring in school history.
