I am a 18 years old, 5 foot 8 inch, 165 pound point guard from Union, New Jersey. I began playing basketball at the age of 5 and I have experienced success as a point guard at every level of competition. I first experienced success as a point guard when I lead my team to a league championship at age of 6th.
At age of 14, I was privileged to compete and earn MVP honors for the 16 & under age group at the St. Anthony Basketball Camp - Jersey City, New Jersey. As a result of that experience I developed the confidence and maturity I needed to compete at a high level. Additionally, the competition allowed me to lead a team with several players and against several players that have now moved on to participate in NCAA Division I programs.
Although I have led an AAU team, Hoop Heaven in Whippany, New Jersey in 3 pointers, assists and steals, I realized that playing point guard has greater responsibilities to my teammates and the coaches. Those responsibilities may include: a) communicating and executing the coach’s vision to my teammates, b) facilitating communication among my teammates, and c) the development my skill set including quick feet, speed, view of the court, understanding passing lanes and tenuous defense to become contributors to winning versus individual achievement.
I love the game of basketball and my dream is to play at a higher level.
This is my favorite quote:
"A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals."
