Personal Statement

Ever since I was four years old, my dream has been to play college basketball. I knew since the first time that I touched a basketball that this is what I wanted to do in life and I wanted to go as far as I could with it. As I got older I developed into a dominate guard, regularly receiving all star awards and recognition at both the point and shooting guard positions. Coach Craig Scott, who knows my game better than anyone (see coach contact section) will tell you that I have great court vision, the best shot he has ever coached, can handle the ball very well, am a natural born scorer, and have "ice water in my veins" when it comes to taking an important shot. Whenever my coaches need points, they put the ball in my hands, especially at the end of a game. I can score from just about anywhere: I can go to the hole, shoot the mid-range jumper, and consistently shoot better than 50% from the three point line.

I can create my own shot off the dribble or just hustle to get open. I can use both hands equally effectively. I am a floor general on the court, taking over games and setting the tempo that a coach wants us to play at. I have no problem finding the open man, and will not shoot an open jumper if I can pass to a teammate under the basket for an uncontested layup. I play both ends of the Court, routinely stealing the ball on defense and limiting the points of any opposing player I guard. I always give maximum effort when I am playing and I help to make the players around me better. I will run through a brick wall for a coach who believes in me, always showing that I am 100% dedicated to not only the sport I love, but to my coaches and to my team.

I make a great candidate for your team because I have no problem scoring, am a play maker who will always hustle and get my teammates involved, and I will work harder than anyone to make sure we succeed as a team. I am an unselfish player and will do whatever a Coach asks of me. I work just as hard in practice as I do in a game and I have been raised to have an excellent work ethic. You can believe in me because I believe in myself. Most importantly, I will have no problems with academic eligibility and will always be available to play: I regularly receive "A's" in my classes and currently have a 3.7 GPA. I want to play all four years and obtain my undergraduate degree.

I have always been a starter and I want to play for a coach who will use me as such, as soon as I have proven my ability and earned my minutes. Should you choose to honor me by giving me a scholarship to attend your college, I promise you that you will never, ever regret your decision. I would love the opportunity to meet you in person to show you what I can do on the basketball court.

Club Information

  • 3 seasons
  • 2015 PFS Elite
  • 2014 JKMBA Jaguars (Sophomore)
  • Playing both point guard and shooting guard, and against mostly older competition, I averaged 20 points and 7 assists a game. We were once again like last year a guard driven team where most of the scoring came from the 1 and 2 spots.
  • 2013 JKMBA Jaguars (Freshman)
  • Since 2007 I have played on numerous AAU, travel, and club teams affiliated with the JKMBA. My most recent JKMBA season ended this past May (2013). I was the starting point guard on a guard driven team where most of the scoring came from the 1 and 2 spots. The coach used me as the primary scoring option and gave me the green light to shoot when open. By the end of the season, I had averaged 24 points and 6 assists a game. My high game was 38 points and my low game was 15 points.

  • I have been attending Coach Martelli's summer basketball camps since 2006. I have received a number of awards including ones for hustle, shooting, and all around best camper for my age group.

Training

  • I have been training since 2006 with Coach Rob "Sully" Sullivan, who is the Director of Basketball Operations for Head Coach Phil Martelli of St. Joe's University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  • 8 years
  • Coach Sully has told me that my shot is mechanically one of the best that he has seen. I learned it from him: he played with Jameer Nelson (Orlando Magic point guard) on the 2004 St. Joe's team that went undefeated in the regular season and he can still shoot lights out. I practice everything with him: shooting, dribbling, getting open, press break, rebounding, and defense. I have done both individual and group sessions with him.
  • Coach Craig Scott
  • 3 years
  • I was the starting point guard/shooting guard for Coach Scott's 8th grade St. Joan of Arc varsity team. We went 23-1 and won our league championship. I was an all division and all league all-star. Coach Craig will tell you that I have great court vision, "ice water in my veins", and that I am the best shooter he has ever coached. Whenever we need points he put the ball in my hand.
