My name is Tyler Peeples. I am 6'3" and weigh 180 pounds. My 40 yard dash time is 5.00. My vertical jump is 33 inches. I am currently a sophomore student at Feather River College in Quincy, California. I was a red shirt last season; therefore, I will have three years of eligibility play after earning my Associate's Degree at FRC in May 2014. I want to continue playing basketball at the next level as I further my education. I also played baseball all four years of high school. My height was an advantage as a first baseman. Our team won the state championship both my junior and senior years.
I have always loved the game of basketball. From an early age, I was shooting baskets through a plastic "Fisher Price" basketball set. I started playing in a pee wee basketball league at the age of five. I entered the Elks Hoop Shoot competitions in my third grade year. I was the Nevada State champion free throw shooter three times. I also participated in co-ed basketball leagues up until 8th grade. My dad coached our 8th grade intermediate school team to their first ever championship. I played JV ball as a freshman and had a very successful year. As a senior, we clinched our league title. We advanced to the regional tournament as the #2 seed. Unfortunately, we didn't make it to state. I averaged 16.9 points per game and had a season high of 36 points.
I have always dreamed of playing college basketball. I work hard on the court and always strive to get better in all my skills. I am a player that has great respect and compatibility with my teammates. I understand that it takes a "team effort" to be great.
I have been exposed to the level of play at the collegiate level and I know I can compete at this level. We are starting our league season at Feather River College in January 2014 and I look forward to time on the court. I want to continue playing beyond my junior college years. I am open to any possibilities. I am interested in staying in the western states. I plan to study Physical Therapy.
I worked hard in the classroom and maintained a 4.2 GPA throughout my high school career. I was ranked 3rd out of 112 classmates while in high school. My 2014 fall GPA at Feather River College was 3.46 with an overall GPA of 3.32.
