I'm a 6' 9" PF/C and I've been playing basketball since I was 5 years old. Everyone wants a bruising, down-low post player, but there's not a lot of them out there and that's certainly not me. While I'm on the thin side for my size, I'm working on getting bigger (eating lots/Crossfit training). I have the ability to guard stronger guys down low, but I also have the foot speed to stay with quicker players on the perimeter. I am crafty in the post on offense, with a variety of different moves. I am really good from 15' out at the elbow and short corner, and I can knock down a 3-point shot. On defense I'm long, with the ability to block shots on the interior and when guarding smaller guys on the wing. I love screen/roll situations on defense because of my quickness and length. I've also already qualified academically, so no issue there. I have taken and will take a number of different AP courses and I like to challenge myself academically. Plus, I'm a four year starter on the varsity tennis team and have spent four years also being part of the varsity show choir. Not many basketball players can add those two accomplishments to their profile!
If you're interested in a different kind of post player, check out my video. It's kind of like the Rolling Stones song says...
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you just might find
You just might find
You get what you need
