My name is Eric Chilcote and I am the oldest of 5 children. Both my mother and father played college basketball (D1 and D2 respectively) and it has been my dream since a young boy to play college ball. I have worked hard on my game and have been told by many that I am an excellent shooter. In the last few years, I have substantially improved my strength, speed, agility, and ballhandling, helping develop my completeness as a player. I have grown to 6`3"and am now 175 pounds. This has allowed me to dunk easily and gather more rebounds. I am always the first in the gym and last to leave, and consider myself a leader on the team. I, also, pride myself as one having integrity and high moral standards. After my Sophmore year, I transfered high schools and was forced to sit out half of my Junior year due to the transfer rule. I was, however, able to gather significant playing time when I was eligible, functioning as a shooting guard, having more than 25 three pointers in 10 games. Our team went on a nine game winning streak enabling us to win our conference. I was selected all conference, all area, and according to Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan, I finished with the highest three point shooting percentage in the state in Class A. I played AAU basketball for the West Michigan Lakers last summer. My academic goal is to have a career in medicine, and I am willing to play college basketball anywhere in the country that has a pre-medicine curriculum. I look forward to playing for a college or university that I can have a positive impact on.
