My dreams is to go to college and be the first of my sibillings to get a degree as well as chasing a basketball career that I have always been dreaming of since I was 5 yrs old. I have two parents that loves me unconditionally and supports my dreams. Both parents has different views in how I should be raised to be a strong black man in a diversified society. My mom inspired persistence and grace as well as caring and my Dad instilled the Will and inspired Confidence and Focus with Grit. He always says to me "son the only person that can stop you in life is you on and off the court period". My mom and dad use to live together and split due to certain situations that was beyond me. But they both still got along and cared for me in their own ways. My mom was my peller, my rock, my everything to me and I lost her due to breast cancer in January of 2013. Before then basketball had always been my love since I was 5 yrs old. My dad use to take me to his pick up games and I watched him play and feel in love with the game. My dad is an ok player for a street baller, but he never played for his school or any organized event. Football is his number one love basketball was just pass on time for him, but always took me to his basketball games and that's when my love started.
The passing of my mom was devastating to me and my family it was un expected normally I was hoping she was going pull out from it, but it didn't happen I think God has other plans for her and I know she is in good hands. Now my dad is the only man in my life with my sisters and he tries do the best job as a father that he can do and teaching me about life and how to survive in this society we live in. His advice is golden in reaching out to me to make me better as a student and a man. Basketball is my outlet it allows me to forget about everything negative and focus in what is at hand the guy in front of me and my team my second family. If I can get into a good school play basketball to a high level that only God knows then I believe this achievement will defintely leave a big smile in my moms face knowing her son will never ever give up on my dreams of being the best of the best by following my dreams. I hope with me sharing my brief life history with you that I will be given a chance to show you my skill level as a basketball player as well as a student.
