Ever since I could remember I have had a passion for all sports. I currently play volleyball, basketball, and soccer. I also run cross country. While these are the only sports I play, I enjoy many other sports. Probably 70% of my waking hours outside of school are spent watching, playing or reading about sports. While I love all sports I am the most passionate about soccer. The main reason I am passionate about soccer is because I love it so much; when I am playing soccer nothing else seems to matter, during a game I don’t think about anything except the game.
One thing about soccer is that it has taught me various life lessons. My strongest character traits are that I am determined, dedicated, and hardworking. This outdoor season I was asked to switch from central midfield to centre back. At first I struggled since I had not played centre back before, but I continued to work on my game. I continued to improve and eventually became the best centre back on my team and probably one of the best centre backs in the league. I learned that with hard work and dedication I can achieve virtually anything.
Soccer has made me a better person and it has helped me have a positive impact on the people around me, but I feel like I have only scratched the surface of what I can become as a soccer player and person.
