During my successful four years at Mooresville High School, I have been very involved in my school and my community. I have been a player for the high school basketball team, junior varsity team my freshman and sophomore years, and varsity my sophomore, junior, and senior years. It has been an honor that my coach has chosen me to serve as a captain of all teams. I also participated on the freshman and junior varsity baseball teams. Not only am I a leader on the court to my teammates, but I am also a leader to my three younger siblings. I feel as the oldest child in my family, it is my responsibility to model hard work, honesty, and integrity to my younger brother and two younger sisters. It is important to pave the way for them in the school system and in life. My parents have taught me that my last name is not just mine, but that it also represents my family. I have taken that to heart.
I have been raised in a basketball family. My parents both grew up watching and loving Indiana University basketball. My father is a high school varsity basketball coach, and his program has seen a lot of success over the last fifteen years. I love and respect the game. My goal has always been to play basketball at the college level. My dream was always to play for a Division I school, but as I have matured reality has caught up with my dream, and I realized that that dream is less attainable, as I stand 5'9" tall. That however has not stopped me from pursuing my goal - to play college ball. I aspire to be the best student of the game as well as an exceptional student in the classroom. I also aspire to be a difference maker on a college team. I have a talent for seeing the floor, getting the ball to players even in tight situations, and scoring at critical moments.
I am interested in getting a degree in Business. Upon graduation I plan on becoming a graduate assistant for a basketball program as I pursue my MBA. Eventually, I would like to open a small business that focuses on health, wellness, and fitness, specializing with young athletes.I believe that my dream and goal will be a perfect match for the right program.
