The highlight of my high school career so far was when I won the MVP award for my school’s varsity basketball team my junior year. However, the one thing that caused me to grind and become the basketball player that I am today was my freshman year of high school. During my freshman year of high school, I tried out for the basketball team and was cut from the team. From this day forward, I vowed to never give up, put my trust in God, and focus on becoming better at my craft each and every day, causing me to fall in love with the sport of basketball.
Having the privilege of playing this sport and being a team captain, I have learned the value of patience, commitment, loyalty, leadership, and sacrifice. I am looking to play basketball at the collegiate level for a school that fits me academically and athletically, but also fits me by helping me gain all the qualities I need to be a better leader. Not only do I feel that I have what it takes athletically to play at the collegiate level, but I also have the character, work-ethic, and the leadership skills to make an impact on your program.
