I will have new film up very soon. I have improved since my senior year of high school and I am playing against Junior College competition this year.
Dear Coaches,
I am Alex Strickland a 6'1 Point guard that can play the shooting guard position if needed. I am a very smart and very good overall basketball player. I can score the ball from all levels whether its shooting the 3 point shot with range or driving into the paint. I can finish at the rim and pull up for a floater or a jump shot as well. I play unselfishly and with a high basketball IQ which is why I averaged 5 assists for my career in high school. I play solid man to man defense with good help defense principles. I averaged 2 steals my senior year. I am also a winner. I closed out many games for my high school team by making important free throws at the end of games. I lead my team to a 21-5 record my senior year and won team MVP. I have played basketball since I was about 3 years old doing a program at the YMCA called "little dribblers." I started playing Travel BasketbalI in 3rd grade. I am currently doing a Post Graduate year just for basketball which shows my commitment. I am academically qualified, however I wanted to take another year to develop mentally and physically as well as develop my skills. I want to play and contribute to a college team and program in my 4 years and I will work as hard as I must in order to make an impact. I would be interested in talking to any coach at any level because I love basketball and want to play in college under any circumstance. I have worked extremely hard the past few years to improve and will continue to work hard throughout my post graduate year and also in college. I hate losing which makes me work hard on every play to avoid that: I am extremely competitive. The difference between me and other recruits is my work ethic. This is why I am willing to take a year after high school to do post grad and continue to improve. I work on my game every day and am in the gym every day lifting weights to work on my strength. I will outwork my opponent. I hope to get my degree in under 4 years and eventually get into the buisiness of coaching later on in life.
