First of all, I am a Christian and I have a strong faith in Jesus Christ. I have carried a 4.0 GPA ever since I started Elementary School at Faith Christian Academy. I am currently in the International Baccalaureate Magnet Program at University High School. I have been in the IB Magnet Program since Sixth grade at Jackson Middle School. I have been playing basketball since I was three years old. I am also very familiar with the Travel/AAU circuit, as I've played in it since I was in 3rd grade. As a Freshman, I was on the Varsity basketball team, being one of only two Freshmen on the team which included eight Seniors and one Junior. As a Sophomore, I was the Team Captain, starting Point Guard, leading scorer and named team MVP. As a Junior, I was one of only three returning Varsity players and once again, Team Captain. My goal is to graduate from college with strong academics and earn a degree in Software Engineering. What makes me a good candidate for a college team is my leadership ability, my ball-handling skills, court vision, my ability to score in a variety of ways and possessing a high basketball IQ. As a 6th grader, no one had heard of me, but I tried out for the Middle School basketball team and made it, but I sat on the bench. The next year, in 7th grade, I was the Team Captain and named the team MVP. In 9th grade, no one had heard of me, but I tried out for the High School team and made Varsity, but I sat on the bench. The next year in 10th grade, I was the Team Captain and named team MVP. I carry a 4.0 GPA in the rigorous IB Magnet program, which means that I am up until 1am in the morning studying and doing homework after practices and games. As a Junior, I was again the Team Captain and still maintained my 4.0 GPA, which is a 5.2 weighted GPA. Now, as a Senior, I am again the Team Captain and I am still maintaining my unweighted 4.0 GPA and my weighted 5.2 GPA. I was told that I am truly a Scholar/Athlete, of which I am very proud. I am looking for a College basketball program that will simply give me the opportunity to help me develop my athletic and academic gifts.
