Personal Statement

I love basketball.  This has been my dream since I saw my first game as a little kid.

I’ve had to work hard for everything I have in basketball.  I had to develop Faith and Perseverance to finally be in a position to achieve my goals.

I was 5’9” the summer before my Junior year.  By November of my Junior year I was 6’2”.  My twin sister is 6’3” so I feel like my body is just starting to mature.

I’ve been the kid that was constantly practicing, practicing, practicing.  I was overshadowed by the players that grew fast.  The time is now here where my body is finally catching up to the skills I have been honing.

If you haven’t heard of me or seen me play—You Will.  I hope it will be playing for you, not against you.

A More Detailed Description of Christian

Larson is a late blooming guard who has come on at a rapid rate in his junior year.  He is a better athlete than you think and is a combo-guard who can play both on and off the ball.  As he fills out physically his length, reach and athleticism are going to only be magnified.  Adding more size and athleticism only takes his game to a higher level.

Basketball IQ

Larson has a very good basketball IQ and is extremely competitive.  He continues to solidify his game with his versatility.  He is continually taking on a leadership role.  He has a definite style and creativity to his game.  He is the complete package on and off the floor.

Passing and Ball Control

He is a future point guard prospect who plays with poise, advances the ball well in transition, and converts buckets efficiently in the paint area with either hand. He has very good vision while locating open teammates.  In traffic he's reading rotations well.  He is a combination guard that can score and distribute the ball.

His ball handling skills and fluid mobility allow him to attack defensive matchups of any size.  He can run the floor with the quickest of guards and leaves the bigs behind.

He has an excellent first step as he slashes in between defenders. His vision and pin-point passing acumen is high-level.  He breaks trapping pressure and is superb in the transition game.

He is constantly active and utilizing both his athletic and basketball skills. He is versatile and his scoring off the drive making him a challenging match up for any defender.

He runs the floor and is a factor at both ends of the floor on virtually every possession.

Shooting

Larson is a scoring guard that can get buckets at all three levels – making shots in bunches from the three-point line, making tough pull-ups, and then being smooth to the rim, especially in the open floor.  He is a scoring guard prospect with a considerable upside. He is a sharp shooter from deep and has a smooth release.  He has an excellent mid-range jumper.  His range extends out to 23-feet.

He can pull-up in transition and knock in the mid-range jump shot or convert his jump shot off the catch.  He is a knock down shooter off the catch or dribble.

He is a rhythm scorer that can put up numbers in a hurry.

Defense

Larson might actually be most gifted on the defensive end of the floor where he has the ability to be a true lockdown defender.  He's a high level defender, capable of locking up on the perimeter.  Defensively he looks to match up with the top players and embraces the challenge.

He is in the beginning of his growth curve.  He should continue to physically mature over the next 2-3 years.  Look for his continued improvement to put him into the conversation among the best available.

Next-Level Impact.
