Personal Statement

I am Thomas Trotman and I am a 2013 graduate of Arapahoe High School and I am currently in my red-shirt sophomore year at Laramie County Community College. I played both basketball and football in high school and was an all state defensive back my senior year with college football opportunities, but always had a stronger passion for  basketball. I have been playing both sports for about 10 years and they have helped me grow as a  young man as well as a player. I have played point guard the majority of my career due to my size, quickness, ability to handle the ball, shooting, court vision, and decision making skills. My strongest quality is my ability to be a positive leader and pick up my teammates at all times. During my basketball career I have been in many big games, and I am very poised and composed when the big moments come. I am a strong defender and enjoy guarding the opposing teams best player. I have the ability to score from all areas on the floor. My coaches and teammates would say I am a confident player who enjoys making his teammates better, and is an unselfish player. I pride myself on being a coachable player and having the ability to adjust my game according to the scheme or style of the coach and team.

I have learned a lot since my freshmen year, grown as a player and enjoyed the experience, but am looking forward to exploring four year colleges close to home. Obviously, after this season is over, I will only have two more years of eligibility and will be looking for my final destination to finish out my career and earn my degree. I am looking forward to a fresh start and new opportunity to prove what I can do both in the classroom and on the court.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
