Personal Statement

I started dribbling a basketball when I could walk. I played for Chauncey Billups Elite Club Team, started with them as a fifth grader. I'm exceptional at Basketball, Football, Baseball and Golf. Played with Colorado Chaos my junior year.

I am a leader in school and on the basketball court. It is my dream to play in college in one of my interested sports. Undecided to geographic region of school I want to attend. Academically proficient.

I have introductory Basketball videos on YouTube. Just search Kyle Colen. Goals are to climb as high as my skills will take me. Continue to work on my game, my academics and improve physically and mentally.

Disappointed with the fact that I wasn't able to be seen on court one where all scouts were present. Organizer had a list of elite talent to look at and was missing my name as well as two others. Person that put together list apologized for the mistake when event was over, but the damage was already done. Was not a fair assessment for all. Makes me just that more determined to be ready when my opportunity comes around. Will make a basketball statement at next years camp.

Top 20 in each class were selected to play in a pre-season all-star game. Event was put on by the Colorado Chaos Club Team/David Mathews. I am honored to have been chosen to participate. I was 3 for 4 from the field and helped our team win by one. Concentrated on feeding our big man DeShawn Swartz.

Ranked 7th in point guard position out of 27, 36th out of 115 overall. Coaches kept promoting passing so that's what I did, that hurt me with ranking position. However a gentlemen from Chicago said that he was there for all three days and said that I was one of the only guards that was doing what was asked of them and that he thought I was the best point guard he saw, that made be feel better!
