During the Spring of 2009, my lacrosse coach became an innocent victim of a high speed chase. His death had such an impact on my life. As the team captain I became responsible to help my teammates overcome their sadness and get back on the field in honor of our coach. Little did they know, I was also experiencing a sadness I'd never felt before. I realized that giving 100% to my life every single day was the only way to live. When my coach's family gave me his stick I understood they weren't just giving it to me as a remembrance of him, they were expecting me to carry on the leadership, self discipline, integrity and dedication that he had taught me on the field. I promised them I would. My family, my studies, and my sports are where I practice these characteristics every single day. As a junior in high school my goal is to focus on my finesse in football. I have the build, the strength and the speed to compete well at the high school level, but I really want to understand the details involved in becoming the best fullback and defensive end that I can at both the high school and college level. Playing for any college would be an honor for me. It can be big or small. I just want the opportunity to get a good education and play the sport I love, FOOTBALL! Right now I would like to go into a career that involves criminal justice. I hope to play at the highest competitive level I can, and I want to become a strong leader for my team.
