Growing up as an aspiring athlete, the pursuit of excellence has been the focal point of my life. My father, from an early age, instilled in me the belief that “I can either pay now and play later or play now and pay later,” and I believe firmly in the power of hard work and dedication. Everyday, I strive to separate myself from my competition and compete everyday for the things I believe in. I have made academics a priority in my life, and I continue to maintain a competitive 99 GPA, which puts me 75th out of 551 students in one of the most competitive academic classes to come through my high school. I have aspirations of becoming either a mechanical or petroleum engineer and every day I strive to lay the strongest foundation possible to achieve these dreams. I have never settled for anything less than an “A” and do my best to take as many Pre-Ap and AP classes as possible. On the field I am a competitor and a leader. I describe myself as the “silent assassin” and am able to maintain my composure and encourage my teammates when the game may not be going the way we want. Off the field, I work harder than any other player on the team because I believe, as a quarterback, leaders set the tone for the rest of the team, and I not only hold myself accountable, but every other player as well. The long road to success as often been described as the “lonely road,” but I have my sights set on the horizon and know what I want in life, and I will work harder than any other person alive to achieve it.
