The highlight of my high school football career was heightened, after we became the first team in my school history that made it to the Playoffs-Regional Semifinals. The school became a member of the Texas University Interscholastic League (UIL) and began competing with the best public schools and vying for UIL championships. After the season, I was elected the captain of the team which came with more expectations, responsibilities, trust from my coaches and teammates, and the need to lead by example. My goals and aspiration as a football player is to lead a team with the intention to win not just play, become a better middle linebacker with intention to play at a college level.
I am a two-sport athlete, first time captain who wants to see my team succeed as a team, and I have good work ethics on and off the field. Being a first generation athlete, and overcoming the huddle of convincing my parent that I can balance academics with athletics shows how resilient and passionate I am determined to succeed as an athlete. I consider it a challenge to play football and also maintain my grades because it was a promise I made to my parents before they approved of me to participate in high school football. I am interested in a good program that will be a good fit for both my academic and athletic needs. As a team player, I set goals to succeed academically and as a football player empowering my team mates to do the same. I am reliable, cognizant of my expectations, team player, and resilient.
