My name is Marlon Cooper Jr. and I grew up in a military family where both my parents served over 20 years in the Army. I look at my life as a military dependent unique. I enjoyed moving around the world and meeting new people. The military life has helped me adjust to new environments and cultures more effectively. I started playing contact football in Hawaii and attended my first FBU Football Camp in which I was selected to attend their Top Gun camp. I enjoyed competing therefore, no matter where we moved my parents ensured I attended at least one camp a year. I would go on to attend camps in Virginia, Houston, and Dallas being recognized at each camp for my work ethics. Throughout my football career I played running back until we moved from Germany to Texas my Sophomore year of high school. At Harker Heights High School I was converted to the Safety position where I started on varsity my Junior and Senior years. Transferring to a new program and changing positions was initially difficult. However, my life experience as a military dependent once again played a key role in me adapting and overcoming the situation. My parents has always instilled in me the importance of being adaptive, working hard, and being discipline. Most coaches and teammates would describe me as being quiet. However, my motto is "action speaks louder than words." In addition to football, I'm also on the Varsity track team where I compete in the 200 meters and both the triple and long jump. As a Junior, I placed 6th at the Varsity 8-6A District Track meet in the triple jump (43'-2').
