Hello, my name is Maverick Wilkinson and I am currently in my senior season at Borger high school in Borger, Texas. I am currently 6'2" and 180 LBS. I was able to put on about 15 LBS between my junior and senior year. My primary position is at defensive end, but I have played several positions over the last 2 years. I have played a linebacker, defensive tackle, slot receiver, and fullback. I guess you could say, I just love the game and will play whatever position that is needed. I first started playing football in 1st grade playing flag football and I just fell in love with the game. My family played a big role in this as they all played football and my dad coached me up until I started school ball in 7th grade. I have learned playing football that nothing is just handed to you, you have to work on and off the field to succeed. One thing that most coaches tell me is that I am very coachable and listen to the advise giving to me by my coaches. After football, I go right into basketball and then to track, so I am pretty busy during and after school. When I am not in school sports, my dad, brother, and myself love to spend time outdoors hunting and fishing. I am also a member of the praise band at church and I play the drums on Sunday mornings. My parents have played a huge role into my development on and off the field and have supported me in everything I do. Some of my goals in high school are to improve my GPA up to a 3.7. After high school I want to pursue a degree in education so that I can teach algebra in high school and be a football coach. In closing, I would like to say to anyone that looks at my profile, that will do whatever it takes to succeed at the next level. I try to lead by example on and off the field in everything that I do.
