This upcoming school year, my senior year, will be the first time I have played football since middle school. I know it seems odd that I would choose my last year to join football, but it was because I didn’t want to graduate from high school regretting not playing. I’ve always had a passion for the game of football, and I’ve missed it ever since I stopped playing 3 years ago. Although I lack high school varsity football experience, I am working hard every single day to improve and learn as much as I can.
My number one goal in college is to get an education, and I plan to use football and/or basketball as tools to help me achieve that goal. Although I love and have a strong passion for both sports, my priorities in life are God, family, education and then sports. I will always put my education before sports because I know that I can't play or even get recruited if my grades aren't good.
In addition to the importance of my education, I'm also very fond of hard work. A player can have all the talent in the world, but they won't make it anywhere in life if they don't work hard. I'm willing to do almost anything to get better than I was the day before, and I expect the same mentality from my teammates. This is what makes me different from any other player because I believe that if my team shares the same desire and grinds together, not only will success come but we’ll be a family. But, most of all we’ll become better men.
Over the summer I will have two trainers, one for wide receiver skills and another for athletic training. In addition to this, I will be attending Performance Course, a summer workout program that my coach recommends we do. I plan to do everything in my power to prepare myself for this upcoming season, so that I can perform at my best. I look forward to being recruited, so that I can have the opportunity to play in college and graduate with my degree.
