Personal Statement

My values of  honesty, integrity, being dependable, and treating others with respect, sets my character apart from others and can be validated by my coaches. I believe it is important to be a leader on and off the field. I understand that being a respected member of my team, school, and community is extremely important to my future as a College Football Player, I am a member of the FCA and am guided by the principles of a Christian Athlete.

My coaches tell me that I am one of their most coach-able players and am willing to put the team first and myself second. For my size (6'2" 295 lbs) I am one of our quicker lineman. I am a 3 year starter on the Varsity Offensive Line; I played Right Guard my Sophomore year; Center my Junior year; Left (Blindside) Tackle my Senior year. I also was the snapper for PAT/Field Goals.

I currently have a 3.0 GPA and I have made Honor Roll in every year (Freshman-Junior) and in the first reporting period of my Senior year I made straight "A's". I am committed to bring my GPA up to or higher than 3.0 by the end of my Senior year. This is to give me the best opportunity to obtain a scholarship as a college athlete. I know that good grades are just as important as my playing ability and am not satisfied with just passing grades, I will be taking Honors classes throughout the rest of my high school career and also look for ways to give back to my community.  I received the Bobcat Award for the 2015-16 football season given to the player who "Represents the Brand" of character, work ethic, example to others of what a Glenn HS football player should represent in leadership, athletic ability, and academics. I was as one of the permanent Team Captains for the 2016-17 season and our team made the playoffs for the first time since 2009. I was awarded some individual honors in my Senior season; Best Offensive Lineman Award, Bobcats "Represent the Brand" award (2nd consecutive), Piedmont Triad 4A All-Conference Team , Northwest North Carolina All-Region Team; Recognized for making straight "A's" during the season. The link below is to an article the local paper did on me and how I dedicated my Senior year to my Mom who passed away on January 9, 2016. She told me to always strive for excellence in everything I do, and I know she would have been proud of my Senior football season and making straight "A's". I feel the aforementioned attributes make me different from other recruits in the class of 2017.
