On the field, I participate in multiple sports year-round which include: Football, Indoor (Winter) Track, and Baseball. In football I play on both the defensive and offensive sides of the ball. My positions include Corner, Safety, and Wide Receiver; however, most of my time is spent in the corner position. As a corner, I have the ability to accelerate quickly, take solid angels from sideline-to-sideline pursuits, and maintain positioning in coverage. In zone defense I am able to cover ground quickly and on man-to-man coverage I mirror the receiver. I will attack the football and get my hands up to disrupt the catch by a receiver, and this is evidenced by my 4 interceptions and multiple pass play break-ups last season. In track I compete in the 300 Meter and the 55 Meter races. In baseball I play Center and Left field; this past season my batting average was .268 and on-base percentage was .434 .
In school, I struggled a little the first two years which resulted in a lower GPA than I liked, however in my Junior year and currently in my Senior year I have made vast improvements. I am dedicated to continue to improve in school and am enrolled in online learning classes for this semester as well. These classes, as well as my dedication to studying and receiving good grades, will help me to attain my goal of attending a University that offers my chosen field of study. I plan on concentrating on an Exercise Science degree and eventually have the ability to help other athletes in the future if they have sports related injuries.
Demonstration of character can be found on and off the field. I am a quiet leader and will work with inexperienced players and help them if they are struggling on the field. I also enjoy working with young kids who are just learning their sport and help them understand and improve their skills; this dedication is seen by my involvement in participating in a yearly baseball camp at my high school for elementary/middle school kids. I have a strong work ethic and am not afraid to put in extra time in the gym, on the field, or at home working on my skills. I am looking to attend a University that will help foster these character traits as well as become a part of a successful football program.
