Personal Statement

I am an all-purpose athlete that can play just about any position on the team. I played QB, WR, HB, and DB. I am three year varsity starter for South Johnston High School which participates in the Two Rivers 3A conference in North Carolina. My junior year, I was the second leading tackler on the team. I played in three playoff off games and had three different head coaches. My sophomore year, we tied for conference and earned a home playoff game. Both my junior and senior year we advanced to the second round of the playoffs. I was elected team captain by the coaches and players both my sophomore year and senior year and took that leadership role seriously and with pride. I made academic all-conference my junior and senior year.

In addition to playing football, I participate in basketball and track. I play sports year round, but always stay focused on school. I have taken honors courses in both Math and English, and I have maintained a 3.1 G.P.A while practicing or playing a game everyday after school. I am motivated and determined to be the best athlete and student I can be. Everyday in the summer, I worked out and conditioned even when it was not required by the coach.

I am looking for a college or university that will allow me to continue my passion of playing football while giving me the opportunity to pursue a college degree. I hope to major in business administration and one day own and operate a mechanic shop or tow company. I love to work with cars and have a desire to own my own company, and I know that obtaining a college degree in administration will allow me to pursue that ultimate goal. I hope to be able to stay close to home near the state of North Carolina because family is most important to me and I would love to be able to keep in contact with them and for my family to be able to see me play football regularly. My dream would be to find a school that I could play safety and make an immediate impact to the team’s success. I am open to consider any school that will give me the opportunity to achieve my dream of playing college football and getting a college degree.
