First off, I'm fast and I'm quick. I've never been caught or never have been outran in a game, even as a Freshman playing varsity. I've never not been the fastest kid on the field, at every level. I'm not a track guy playing football, I'm a football player with track speed. I'm also tough and have heart. At this point I think I am very similar to Christian McCaffrey of the Carolina Panthers, which is ironic because my Dad signed with Carolina after his college days at Nebraska.
I want to play major college football and win championships. It is also important that my experience in college helps me grow into a productive member of society and allows me to build a family and be a solid member of any community I end up in down the road. I want to lead by example using my talent, work ethic, coachability, and relentless effort to help make my teammates better and achieve the ultimate team goals. I want to be a leader on the field, in the weight room, meeting rooms, classroom and the community.
I'm fortunate to have the opportunity to follow my brother, uncles, cousins, grandfather, and most importantly, my Dad and play Division 1 football. The influence of 90's Husker Power and those principles is what it takes to get to the highest level and know I can put the work in and achieve all my goals. My dad, Brian, was a starting fullback on some of those great Nebraska teams of the 90's under Coach Osborne and played in the Hula Bowl under Lou Holtz. I want a space in my house when I grow up that I can hang National Championship jerseys, posters, photos and my helmet. I've worked since 7th grade at Xplosive Edge in Omaha utilizing Boyd Epply's methods and at Premier Mixed Martial Arts under UFC veteran Ryan Jensen to help my strength, speed, and overall athletic ability. With all that training, my running, agility, and jumping times and measurements are as good as my Dad's in many areas while he was at Nebraska.
My family moved to Cozad, Nebraska this summer. Within the first 2 weeks, I had broken many of the school records for running and jumping before my Freshman year started. Cozad has produced many NFL veterans and currently has a receiver at Nebraska. I was a 2 way starter by seasons end. I led all 9th graders in the state's top 3 biggest classes of Nebraska in rushing. I had over 100 touches without one ball on the ground.
I'm good in the classroom. I have a high moral standards and my faith is important to me. I feel like when I am in the game or on the field, everyone steps up their game and we always have a chance. I can see myself in several different roles in college. I know I have the size and speed to play running back anywhere and I have great hands. In the right setting I know I could grow into the fullback size if needed. I think my skills could ultimately translate to either a SS or Sam or Will in a 4-3. Wherever I play, I know it will be at a high level and I will make my coaches, teammates, fans, parents, and myself proud.
