I have been playing all types of sports since childhood, but my favorite is football. Along the way, I have received several awards. Some of these include: Male athlete of the year in 8th grade, team captain of both my freshman and sophomore teams, varsity starter as a junior as well as a "POW" or player of the week award. I have also run varsity hurdles since my freshman year, placing 7th in the state this past spring. I have always tried hard to be a good team mate, work hard, and be "coachable". This year, I was given the honor of wearing a patch that is given to team leaders, as viewed by the coaches. I also won Offensive MVP for my team and the "Iron Bear" award. The "Iron Bear" award signifies the toughest player as voted by my teammates. Most recently I was named 1st Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All-State at running back and earned 2nd Team All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-State as a safety. While I love sports, my education is also extremely important to me. I have taken honors classes throughout high school and have also been named Academic All-State each year during high school. I hope to play football at a quality university and study kinesiology. My family is very supportive of my goals and I'm grateful for this. Like most young people, I have plenty to learn--but I promise to make the very most of whatever opportunity comes my way. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
