My name is Brandon A. Gandy. I play for Hollister High School in Hollister Missouri. The positions that I play include Offensive Guard, Defensive Tackle and Center. I start Offense and Defense every game. Our football team does not have many players so the ones we have usually have two jobs. I think that has made me a better player, more versitile.
My relationship with Jesus Christ comes before anything, without Him I am nothing and can do nothing. My family is a very important part of my life, football career and they are my #1 fans. I have loved football for as long as I can remember. I watched football with my dad at a young age and telling him that I wanted to play football when I was big. My parents, siblings and other family members encourage me and support me to do just that. I have played since I was in the 5th grade in YMCA football league. I was the slower much bigger kid on the team , but I didnt let that stop me from playing the game and loving it. I have started on the Varsity football team for 4 years. I think what makes me different than others is, I never give up. If I fail I get back up and try again. I feel that I cannot learn and grow if I don't get back up and try again after I fail. I am very supportive of my brothers on and off the field. I have awards and achievements but they do not make me who I am. I am first a follower of Christ and then I am an offensive lineman. I want to be able to obtain a Physical Education degree so I can give back. To be able to show kids how much fun it is to be part of a sports team, the life long friends you make. To show them the passion that I have for sports. I was given a chance my Freshmen year to play Varsity, some people said I wouldnt make it. I showed them with determination, loyality, and pride that I could and I did. Not pride in myself but pride in my brothers, coaches, school and community.
Durning my high school career I have been involved in varsity football ,band, marching band, Student Council, Impact Team , The Youth Legancy Institute, FFA, and varsity wrestling. I went to Missouri Boys State in Warrensburg Missouri, my junior year. I also went to state in wrestling the same year. I am the only wrestler that has went to state from our young Hollister wrestling program, so far. I was very happy to represent my school, and community.
My senior year well its off and running. I have never felt better. I attended two PSU football camps over the summer, also Evangel team camp. I am excited to get into a college that will be able to let me play the game that I love while getting my degree in Physical Education. and minor in History.
