Sports have been a part of my life since Day 1, as I was always active on the playground and in my own backyard. When I was 8 years old, I joined my first organized football team, and I was hooked. No game combines raw athleticism with strategy as much as football does. I've played every year except for sophomore year, when I sustained a broken tibia and fibula that sidelined me for the year I was bound to become a varsity starter. As terrible as that experience was, it taught me lessons about hard work and perseverance. While I was injured, I always imagined there was some "bar" of sorts that I had to meet that would mean I was fully healed, but I came to the realization that instead there is no bar, and that every day must be used to better yourself through practice, training, and self-reflection. Now recovered from that injury, I hope to continue my academic and athletic experiences into college.
Favorite NFL players: Julian Edelman, Steve Smith Sr.
