From the time I was four years old and saw my older brother on the football field, I knew I wanted to be a football player. Through football I have learned many life skills. I learned to depend on my teammates, build trust in others, and commit to others as well as to myself in order to improve my game. Being a two sport athlete at a highly competitive high school with high academic standards, I learned the importance of time management in order to complete my academic assignments and take time for practice, training, and extra practice. Being on the smaller side for size, I have always had to prove myself to everyone around me through my play on the field. This is an obstacle that I continue to overcome.
Academically, I plan to maintain Honor Roll status and push to attain a 4.0 overall GPA. As a dedicated leader in my sport, I was selected, along with a few other teammates to be a leader on and off the field. This leadership team meets outside of football to build a relationship with one another and discuss ways to share our brotherhood with the rest of the team. The goal of this leadership team is to establish a positive team culture as we move into to the upcoming football season. My passion for football, leadership skills, and commitment to my teammates have been a key ingredient in my role on the leadership team and the Calvert Hall Football Program.
