I enter my senior season at Brother Martin as a three year starter at snapper and first year starter at fullback. The Crusaders compete in the legendary Catholic League of New Orleans and in the 5A class (highest in LA). This summer I made great strides in my snapping skills and my speed and agility. On June 3-4, 2016, I attended the FBU camp in Rayne, LA and won the MVP award as best snapper. At that camp, Coach Bertoni of Rubio Long Snapping, evaluated me with a four star rating.
On July 7, 2016, I attended the Rubio Texas camp, where I continued to learn and improve. I plan on attending another Rubio camp this fall to show and test my progress. Also, throughout the summer, I worked weekly with Rubio instructor, Blake Ferguson (LSU's starting snapper) on an individual basis. Additionally, I had several one on one instructional periods with Coach Kevin Ballinger of Rubio Long Snapping in Houston, TX.
With my previously attended six Pro-Kicker camps and summer work this year, my snapping has progressed very well. I am currently snapping at a .70 speed with very good accuracy. I am confident that what Coaches Rubio, Ferguson and Ballinger have seen in my development, will provide any college coach with a great recommendation.
Academically, I have earned a 3.5 GPA for the 4th quarter of my junior year. For the 2015-2016 academic year, my overall GPA was a 3.33. I will continue that hard work into my senior year and strive for academic excellence. I have taken the ACT once as a practice test and scored a 19. I am much more capable than that score shows. I am registered to take it again in September of 2016 and have worked hard in my preparation. I fully expect to get a better score.
I am a very outgoing, focused and dedicated student/athlete. I have displayed a great work ethic, high character and never quit attitude throughout my high school years. In choosing a college or university, my goal is to perform at the highest level on the field and in the classroom. As I work towards earning my degree, I am driven to prove my skills at long snapping which will benefit a team that has that particular need.
I plan to continue my education in a post graduate program. Therefore, I look forward to a college or university that will prepare me for that endeavor. In my five years at Brother Martin, I played multiple sports and participated in numerous extracurricular activities. This proves my ability to manage time and multi task at a high level. My election as senior class president and five years of service on student council, prove my leadership abilities. Thank you for your considering me as a 2017 Long Snapper recruit.
