Personal Statement

Hi, I am currently a Senior at Carroll High School in Carroll, Iowa. I am a starter on both sides of the ball, that being right guard and defensive tackle. I played mostly defense this year, due to the fact that the coaches wanted to keep me fresh on defense while having a fantastic player to fill my spot on offense. I played all around the defensive line. I started the year at defensive end, and moved into defensive tackle, because of the scheme we were running. I am comfortable playing either position. My team received the honor of being District Champions, and I was named to 1st team All-District as a Sophomore. This year after finishing my Senior year, I received the honor of being 1st team All-District again, as well as receiving the honor of being 2nd team All-State. I have also had much experience playing football being on an AAU team from Waukee, Iowa and Urbandale, both with excellent coaching.  My biggest goal is to be the best football player I can be. I would like to play college D1 football somewhere in the country, if I am fortunate enough. I have also been playing the violin since I was three years old. I also have had the privilege of being selected to the Iowa Honors Orchestra all three years possible. I'm also an Olympic Weightlifter, which is what I use for strength training. I was invited and attended a training seminar at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs over Christmas break, and trained with the US Olympic weightlifting coach. I am attending the US Olympic Weight Lifting Youth Nationals in Minnesota this summer to compete and plan on finishing 1st.  I have always tried to better myself in everything I do, and strive to be the best. Thank you for looking at my profile, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
