As of the time that I am writing this, my greatest achievement in football has been reaching the state championship game in my sophomore year. Even though my school's program is very young, I feel like we are very talented and I love each of my teammates as if they were my own brother. We work well as a unit and have a bright future ahead of us. Because of these factors, I think that I have grown as a player and would like to play at the college level. My most effective period of growth physically has been from January to May this year which is the off-season. I have chosen to do early morning weight training from 6:45 - 7:30 before school with my coach. Since then, I have been able to focus on gaining muscle strength and increasing my bench, incline, squat and power clean. I am extremely lucky when it comes to the coaches and others who support and encourage me to get better.
Although I have worked very hard to increase my physical strength, my academics have never faltered because of my athletics. I continue to maintain a 3.94 with straight A's this semester as well. I think that I am a good fit for the college level because I have displayed strengths in the skills required to be an "academic athlete". I am of course proficient in athletics, but also I have mental aspects I believe to be necessary. I love football and would love to do it at a further level, and hope to keep playing after high school. I am sure that I have what it takes, and look forward to showing my talents further in my upperclassmen years. Thank you for your time
