Any result I get in any area of my life is directly related to the effort I put in to it. I work hard every day in the classroom and after school with practices and training for football and lacrosse.
When football season ended I immediately started my offseason training by attending voluntary workouts the following week. The offensive line coach was doing weight lifting and conditioning practices and I was the only defensive player to go knowing it was a great opportunity to improve myself for next season. As a result of these workouts, I was able to increase my strength in all areas and increased my weight by 30 lbs. since last season. I have continued with this same drive during official offseason workouts balancing training, varsity lacrosse and school.
I feel my determination sets me apart from other student athletes. My first award at a football camp was for determination and never giving up. If I don’t pick up a task initially I will not stop working until I feel I’ve mastered that task. I was recognized this spring football season by being named as the only sophomore to our Leadership 8 group that is responsible for making team rules and decisions with the coaching staff.
Another thing that helps me on and off the field is I thrive in pressure situations. Whether it’s football or lacrosse I always want to be a part of the play to help my team. My love for football motivates me to work extremely hard in everything I do on and off the field. I’m a leader in the classroom, at practices and on the field. I am hoping that my hard work and determination will give me the opportunity to fulfill my dream of playing college football.
