As I was finishing my application and entering every detail of my life I wanted to emphasize a vital part of my life and that is football. As I entered high school I was still very much an immature and undisciplined kid that didn’t have his priorities straight and didn’t know what to do with my life. So when I joined the football team it genuinely altered my life for the better in almost every aspect. While I had played in middle school and PAL leagues, I was not as serious about football as I became in high school. Playing football for my high school didn’t just give me something to do after school it gave me something to stand for and brothers that I will have for the rest of my life. It also changed me in my schooling indefinitely. Walking into Matanzas High school my freshman year The school had only won 15 games in 8 years. That year was not much better. My sophomore year we got a new coach who changed everything that the school had ever done. And each year we improved with many "firsts". This past year as a senior, I am part of our school history to being the first team to make it to playoffs. This not only transformed the school and the county, more importantly it transformed me
With the coaches always around and assisting I was able to get my grades on track because if I didn’t there would be consequences. So even though it is no longer football season I still live by the rules that they taught me because they apply to not only football but also life. I did everything they said on and off the field so that I could continue to play this sport that helped me discover my self. My only hope from here is that I get to continue play football for a college.
