Zachary Smith '17 Recruiting Profile

Hello to ALL coaches!!!  My name is Zachary Smith, and I've got heart, passion, leadership and determination for the game of football. My coaches have told me that I am very coachable and teachable.  In my freshman year, I overcame a broken arm and started the entire season as an Offensive Tackle, both left and right. Beginning last spring, I have been playing Defensive End and most of the positions on the defensive line including noseguard and tackle. My coach selected me to be only of only a couple players trained and coached on all positions on the D Line. I am able and excited to play both sides of the ball. Our head coach invited me to be part of the 7 on 7 team last summer playing the position of Tight End. I fell in love with this position and enjoy the opportunity to move the ball. As a result of my efforts combined with my teammates at our 7 on 7 tournament, we finished in the top 4 of 48 teams represented for the first time ever!! I am smart, strong, and excited about my future. I am determined to do everything possible to be a valuable asset on my team, and every team I am part of in the future.  My college goals include playing football at a school that embraces a team player philosophy and builds character in me as I play the game I love.  I want to study biology or exercise science with the goal of completing my doctorate of physical therapy, and I am passionate about personal fitness and helping others achieve their goals. My GPA is 4.4 and I just successfully completed 5 Honors and AP classes this year, always striving to do more than what is required. I have been dual enrolled all year as a  Junior, and I plan to do the same my Senior year to get a jump start on my college requirements. Thank you so much for viewing my profile, and I look forward to talking with you soon about my future.
