Zachary Reed '16 Recruiting Profile

 I have been playing football since I was 6 years old. It has taught me the importance of dedication.  Playing football for so many years has also made me a versatile player and given me the opportunity to be successful at several different positions. I am currently starting on Varsity as a defensive tackle and special teams. As a sophomore, I was able to start on varsity as an offensive guard and special teams. Recently, I practiced at center and in the past I have been utilized as a defensive-end (Freshman Defensive Lineman of the Year) and middle linebacker. I am looking for a school where I can contribute in any of these positions.
My GPA is a 2.83  which I have been able to accomplish in spite of my diagnosis of dyslexia. Overcoming dyslexia has been another challenge that I have faced and tackled in my life. I believe that I have the ability to succeed even when I am faced with an obstacle through hard work and perseverance. I intend to bring my GPA up to a 3.0 by the end of my junior year.
In the 2014 season I was awarded several awards including the Iron Bolt (given to the strongest member of the team), Defensive Lineman of the Year, and Honorable Mention All Conference.
I believe that continuing to play football in college will give me skills that make a difference on and off the field. My goal is to play football for a university or college that has strong academic programs in the areas that are of interest to me. Currently I am interested in sports medicine, biotechnology and veterinary medicine.
