My name is Isaac Lopez. I am a student-athlete at Pomona High School. I was six years old the first time I put on a helmet and shoulder pads and I have been in love with the game of football ever since. Football is an outlet for me. Football allows me to be very physical and impose my will upon someone in a positive and productive way. Most importantly, football allows me to be part of a team. Throughout my many years of football I have developed strong bonds with my teammates and coaches. They know they can rely on me. I am mentally sharp and I know my assignments so that I can do my job on the team. I know I can get a better result from teamwork than I can achieve alone and every team needs leadership. I’ve learned how to be a good leader and I demonstrate strong work ethic. Leaders don’t just tell you what to do, they show you what to do. That is why I am always at practice and in the weight room trying to get better and improve myself and my teammates around me. I am also a strong voice on the team. I encourage my teammates to be their very best and try to keep everyone focused on what we need to do to win. I am a strong student and getting a college education is very important to me. More than anything, I would like football to be a part of my collegiate journey. I would like to study Sports Medicine/Kinesiology in college so that after my football career ends I can continue to be involved in the sport and help other student and professional athletes train, stay healthy, and excel in their sports. Football has opened many doors for me. I’ve traveled across the United States and have met countless influential people who have introduced me to great life philosophies. Some of my favorite philosophies include “FPMN” (Fast, Physical, Mean, and Nasty) and “BYA” (Bust Your Ass), and “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” I strive to live by these principles every day, on and off the field.
