Cameran Strickland '17 Recruiting Profile

The minute I started playing field hockey I had a goal, I wanted to play field hockey in college. And ever since then I have done everything to try and achieve this goal. If I were to continue field hockey in college it would be a life changing experience and a dream come true.
When I started the sport my stick skills have done nothing but improve; every time I play I learn and gain something new. On my school and club team I try to lead by example, and when I see a teammate who is frustrated I talk to them and work it out until we come to a conclusion. I am a very coachable player and am one of the hardest workers, I will always put in 110% in everything I do. .
Academically I currently maintain a 3.8 / 4.0 GPA, and I challenge myself by taking advanced and AP courses. I am taking one AP class as a sophomore, and I plan on taking four AP courses next year. Out of school in my spare time I try to give back to my community, I volunteer at the homeless shelter, help organize school charity fundraisers, and help cheer on at the Special Olympics. 
I look forward to attending a college where I can challenge myself on and off the field because not matter what I will put in the effort to succeed.
