Being chosen for the National Futures Championship at the end of eighth grade first made me realize that I wanted to play at a collegiate level and hopefully one day at a national level. Although field hockey first became an extra curricular activity for me in second grade, eighth grade was when it became more than just a time and place on my family’s busy schedule. When I was younger I never considered field hockey being a major part of my life but as I’m getting older it’s becoming more important to me each time I step on the field. Not only has field hockey taught me how to work with other players as a team, but it has taught me how to be a leader. On and off the field I find it vital to always have strong relationships with my teammates and always be supportive while motivating each other to work towards our common goal. As of right now, I’m open minded towards my school preferences but I look forward to the collegiate athletic experience.
