My name is Kaitlin Maguire. I'm a 16 year old junior at Toms River HS North. This past year our high school had its best showing in a decade when we made it to the State Sectional Finals against regional power Freehold Township. I have been playing field hockey since I was 10 years old at a competitive level. In middle school our team when I was in eighth grade won our division in the very competitive Shore Conference. I started out playing competitive club hockey with Spirit Eagles field hockey club and then moved to Jersey Intensity and was part of a u-14 team that won a gold medal at the National Indoor Tournament at Virginia Beach. I participated in the Futures programs from 2009 to 2012 at various levels. I started doing personal training with Ingrid Alkhoven at Total Dutch Field Hockey and fell in love with their program. I joined them for u-16 level play as part of the Total Dutch Orange team that was a semi-finalist in the Mickey Bracket in February 2012 competing against WC Eagles and Jersey Intensity's top teams. We were at the time ranked as the 8th best club nationally. We also placed second in our pool at Festival 2012 and we finished strong against some very tough competition in Disney 2013 in our first year in u-19's. But most of all the girls on the Total Dutch team have become a second family for me. I have been the editor of our school newspaper for two years now and am interested in a school that has strong communications/journalism program. I also want to be able to continue my love of field hockey and be surrounded by a team that loves it as well.
