A year and a half ago I decided to pick up a field hockey stick for the first time. I initially did it for the simple reason of getting in shape for my first high school basketball season. I had no intention of falling in love with a sport so different than the one I grew up loving. With a great group of coaches and fantastic teammates to compliment me, I found myself earning spot on the varsity roster and a place in the starting line up. Since that time and my introduction to the sport, my love for the game has only grown. I now play year round on my club team where I play center forward. My team means a lot more to me then just a bunch of girls fighting to win a championship, but instead a family that goes through ups and downs always trying to make each other the best they can be. Even though I have played for such a short amount of time, I have worked endlessly to compete on the highest level of play. I can only improve and I am willing to do anything to become the best student athlete that I can, both in the classroom and on the field. I’m excited for the potential opportunity to be considered to play collegiate field hockey.
