To be the best I can be, I push myself to be the most intense, and I pride myself on this. My intensity and commitment to everything I do on the field gives me an edge over others because I want to become better every single day. I am and will be the loudest, most intense person on the field. Losing my starting spot as the varsity field hockey goalie for my high school team has taught me not to take what I have for granted. Since I lost my spot, I've learned humility, but I've developed a thirst for growth. As a second-generation American and daughter of an Army veteran, I have the discipline and drive to reach my goals. All I want to do is be the best version of myself, both on the field and in school. To do this, I've completely evolved as a person so I can achieve my goals this year. My adaptability as a person lets me mature so I can learn to handle life's obstacles better and makes it so I'm more coachable as a player. I had been a street hockey goalie until 6th grade, but never a field hockey goalie until my sophomore year. I put in maximum effort, competing against another sophomore goalie for the starting varsity spot that year, and I achieved my goal. This is a testament to my coachability, as I believe I can only improve from here on out. I am also a bodybuilder, completely dedicated to improving my body and self-confidence during the off-season.
I believe myself to be a leader, but not in the conventional sense. I have not been a team captain, but as a goalie, I feel that I have just as much responsibility as an elected captain to my team on and off the field. I think reaching out to younger players is extremely important as well and I have made an effort to welcome new players to the team as an upperclassman. It is my belief that any program will work more efficiently if players are comfortable with each other and have mutual respect for each other. Respect, support, and familiarity are of the utmost importance to me when it comes to teammates, so I actively try to teach younger players these values. In considering schools, these values on a team would be extremely important to me. I am open to colleges of different sizes, divisions, and areas. At the moment, I am interested in majoring in one of the sciences, as I wish to be either a veterinarian or doctor.
